How to tame a Griffin step by step
- Prepare Extraordinary Kibble or Raw Mutton, Chain Bolas or a trap and plenty of tranquilizer ammo.
- Let it come down at you or lure it to the ground; on the ground it is much easier to hit.
- Pin it with a Chain Bola or a Bear Trap so it cannot take off again.
- Shoot it with tranquilizer arrows or darts until it falls asleep.
- Put the food in its inventory, watch the torpor bar and guard it until the end.
Where to find the Griffin in ARK Ascended
It spawns on Ragnarok, Lost Island, Fjordur and Crystal Isles; it is not on Valguero even though it appeared in that map’s trailer. It is an aggressive flyer that dives at whatever it sees, so it usually finds you first.

- A Plant Species Y Trap holds it but damages it; a bola or Bear Trap is better.
