Beta test of the economy system on Valguero

Currency System Beta Phase — ARK: Survival Ascended

⚠️ Testing starts tomorrow or the day after on the Valguero (PvE) map, November 21 or 22, 2025.

 

Two maps for the beta

  • Medieval map:
    • You can build wherever you want: inside the town, outside it, at sea, or on water platforms.
    • If you build outside the town, limit of 100 structures + 100 decorations (200 in total).
    • The goal is not to set up defensive bases, but rather trading posts or economy outposts.
    • In the town: “you grab a piece” (part of a house, not the whole thing).
    • Rules are on Discord. If you don't read them and go overboard… “I'll launch a Putin missile and you'll lose your base without warning.”
  • Asian map:
    • You can't build freely.
    • Only in street areas, without blocking the way.
    • Themed urban environment (Oriental style), with integrated shops and underground areas.
    • Players are already setting up their shops with their own stories.

Currency system (beta phase)

 

  • It's unlocked as an engram starting at level 20.
  • Two pickaxes are used:
    • Basic pickaxe (required to craft the gold pickaxe)
    • Gold pickaxe (even better)
  • Dust farming (only with those pickaxes):
    • Crystal → copper dust
    • Metal → copper and silver dust
    • Obsidian → gold dust
  • The dust is turned into ingots in the forge.
  • The ingots are used to craft the coins: bronze, silver, gold, and diamond —also in the forge.
  • The forge runs on firewood. Without firewood, it doesn't work.
  • There will be servers:
    • PvE: safe farming.
    • PvP: more risk, possibly with a 1.5x or 2x multiplier (as on Rust servers: safe zones give less, dangerous zones give more).

Optional purpose of the currency

This currency can be farmed to access exclusive zones (like the “VIP” maps with mods: Ragnarok, Valguero+, Forglar and Amissa), offering a free alternative to the Twitch/Amazon Prime subscription.

“If you don't want to pay for Twitch, then look, you can be farming here like crazy… maybe it'll take you two weeks. It's like World of Warcraft or EVE Online: you farm the in-game currency and buy exclusivity.”
