How to tame a Dreadmare step by step
- Make sure you own the ARK Fantastic Tames - Dreadmare DLC: without it you cannot use the altar.
- Gather tributes before you start, for example Sarcosuchus Skin, Spinosaurus Sail, Giganotosaurus Heart or Alpha claws. Tributes from sea creatures are not needed.
- At night, find and kill a wild Dreadmare and harvest the Dark Altar from its body.
- Place the altar away from your base, before it expires, and use it at night.
- Hand in the requested tribute within 5 minutes and defeat the Dreadmare that appears. If you are late, the altar takes damage and both the Dreadmare and the tribute creature spawn.
- Repeat until the tame is complete, then interact with the altar to get your Dreadmare. If you fail 4 tributes, the altar breaks and the attempt is lost.
