How to tame a Dreadmare step by step<\/h2>\n

  1. Make sure you own the ARK Fantastic Tames - Dreadmare DLC: without it you cannot use the altar.<\/li>\n
  2. Gather tributes before you start, for example Sarcosuchus Skin, Spinosaurus Sail, Giganotosaurus Heart or Alpha claws. Tributes from sea creatures are not needed.<\/li>\n
  3. At night, find and kill a wild Dreadmare and harvest the Dark Altar from its body.<\/li>\n
  4. Place the altar away from your base, before it expires, and use it at night.<\/li>\n
  5. Hand in the requested tribute within 5 minutes and defeat the Dreadmare that appears. If you are late, the altar takes damage and both the Dreadmare and the tribute creature spawn.<\/li>\n
  6. Repeat until the tame is complete, then interact with the altar to get your Dreadmare. If you fail 4 tributes, the altar breaks and the attempt is lost.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It comes from the official paid DLC ARK Fantastic Tames - Dreadmare. Wild ones only show up at night, roughly from 20:30 to 05:30 in-game time, and the wiki notes they can also appear on Extinction. You need to own that DLC to tame one.<\/p>\n
